Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which, students will spread awareness over HIV / AIDS. It envisages to instill charity mind among all the students to extend their able help towards developing healthy life styles, donating blood to all the needy by promotion of Regular voluntary blood donation.

Objectives:

1. To create an awareness and to induce the spirit among youth to help and support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) thereby reducing stigma and discrimination against PLHWAs.
2. To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skills on leadership, negotiation, and team building.
3. To promote voluntary blood donation among youth.

What is the goal of Red Ribbon Club?

Red Ribbon is a globally recognized symbol for HIV/AIDS awareness. Establishment of Red Ribbon Clubs was an important initiative undertaken by the Government of India to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and associated myths among the youth and empower them as per educators.
The Red Ribbon Club (RCC) of Rajiv Gandhi Govt. college Simga organized a AIDS Awareness programme on 01-12-2019 & 01-12-2020. The programme was inaugurated by principal Dr. Meena Meshram and she has given AIDS awareness speech , she also and explained about the causes of AIDS and preventive measures to be taken and has to treat the AIDS affected patients like human beings .
